The Batalha Monastery, or Monastery of Saint Mary of the Victory, is an architectural masterpiece and another UNESCO World Heritage site. Built to commemorate the Portuguese victory at the Battle of Aljubarrota in 1385, the monastery boasts intricate stonework, stunning stained-glass windows, and the impressive Founder's Chapel, which houses the tombs of several Portuguese monarchs.
